Important changes affecting NSW Department of Education schools

ACER is now an approved supplier for the NSW Department of Education Online Learning Tools Panel, with its Online Assessment and Reporting System (OARS) approved for use. eWrite is no longer approved due to its AI scoring model, and schools will be refunded for unused credits. Purchases must move to the NSW EdBuy marketplace by mid-August 2026, with further communication planned.

ACER is now an approved supplier

ACER has recently been approved as a member of the NSW Department of Education Online Learning Tools Panel, and ACER's Online Assessment and Reporting System (OARS) is now an approved Solution. This will enable wider availability of ACER assessments and resources, including our PAT assessments.

eWrite no longer available for NSW Department of Education schools

Due to its use of an AI scoring model, eWrite is not approved for use by NSW Department of Education schools. ACER is contractually required to immediately restrict NSW Department of Education schools from using eWrite.

eWrite tasks can no longer be assigned to or completed by your students.

Any eWrite tasks currently assigned will be closed and/or unassigned from your students.

ACER will be refunding affected NSW Department of Education schools for purchased and unused eWrite test credits. We will contact schools during August 2026 with more details about any refund that may be owed.

Purchasing to move to NSW EdBuy

Purchasing of approved products must be completed via the NSW Department of Education online marketplace, EdBuy. ACER is currently working to set up our EdBuy catalogue and expect it to be operational by mid-August 2026.

We will be communicating with schools throughout August to provide more information about these changes.

In the meantime, please reach out to our School Support team if you wish to purchase or renew your ACER online assessments.
