Multifactor authentication for staff

This article covers the multifactor authentication security update feature released October 2026. This feature verifies your identity when signing in to OARS.

How it works

  1. Sign in to OARS using your login details.
  2. A verification code will be sent to the email address linked to your OARS account.
  3. Enter the code on the OARS screen and select Verify.

The code is valid for 10 minutes.

Remember this device

You can select Remember me on this device so you don't need to enter a verification code each time you sign in.

Your device can be remembered for 30 days. You may need to verify again if you clear your browser cookies or use a different browser.

Haven't received your code?

  • Check your junk or spam folder.
  • Check the email address shown on the OARS verification screen.
  • Make sure you're checking the email account linked to your OARS login.
  • Request another code if needed.

If you don't know the email address linked to your school's account or can no longer access it, contact your school's OARS administrator or ACER School Support for assistance.

Important

Each staff member should use their own OARS login with their own email address. This ensures the verification code is sent directly to the person signing in.

Never share your password or verification code with another person.
