Purpose

The student import assistant will help you to update your student list by uploading a single XLSX file:

  • Add new students to your account
  • Update the details of existing students, including replacing or adding to students' list of assigned tags
  • Unenrol past students no longer at the school (optional)

No changes will be made to your account until you confirm at the final step of the process.

How it works

Suggests matches

The assistant will find likely matches between students in your new student file and students already existing in your account. You will be asked to review these suggested matches and confirm which are correct and which are incorrect.

Updates matched students

For all matches that you confirm, the existing student records in your account will be updated with the new information from your file (for example, year levels, usernames or class groups). You will be offered the choice of either replacing the existing tags assigned to these students or keeping the tags and adding any new ones from your file.

Adds new students

Students appearing in your file but not already in your account will be added.

Updates tags how you want

You have two options:

  • Replace all existing student tags with the tags from your file
  • Keep the existing tags assigned to students, while adding the new tags from your file

Unenrols past students

For students in your account but not your file, you will be given the option of unenrolling them. This will remove them from your main student list in your account but retain their details and test history for future reference.
