Tranche 1 is the first phase of the Year 1 Numeracy Check Pilot. Its purpose is to trial test content and administration processes and to gather student data and teacher feedback to inform the final version of the tool. Tranche 1 will run from 18–29 May and is open to Year 1 students only. Participating teachers are asked to complete professional learning prior to administering the check. Selected Victorian government schools will participate in Tranche 1 of the pilot.

Key information
- Ensure all participating Year 1 students’ details are correct and new students are added to your school's OARS account prior to administering the assessment.
- ACER will assign the test forms to your participating students.
- Participating teachers should carefully read the Test Administration Instructions in advance
- Professional learning is being provided to participating teachers between Monday 4 May and Monday 11 May.
- The assessment administration period will run from Monday 18 May to Friday 29 May.

Instant raw score reports will be available through your school’s OARS account.
Please note, that the purpose of Tranche 1 is to trial the Year 1 Numeracy Check content, not to assess or make judgements about individual student performance.
Results should not be used for reporting or decision-making about individual students.
Teacher feedback surveys
Teachers will be asked to complete two feedback surveys:
